Lindsay Lohan "Desperate" to Fire New Attorney She Just Hired

Lindsay Lohan is desperately trying to hire a new defense attorney, despite having fired Shawn Holley and replaced him with Mark Heller just weeks ago.

The actress reportedly “despises” Heller, prompting her to hunt for another replacement. Finding one may prove a difficult task for her, however.

Mark Heller, Lindsay Lohan

“Lindsay has been on the phone calling criminal defense attorneys in Los Angeles trying to hire someone new to represent her,” a source revealed.

“She called four other top DUI attorneys, and every one turned her down … one even had his assistant call Lindsay back and say he wasn’t interested.”

Lindsay Lohan fired Shawn Holley, her longtime lawyer, earlier this month and was represented by Heller on Wednesday; her next court date is in March.

The 26-year-old faces charges of lying to police following her summer car crash in L.A., as well as the probation violation this may have triggered.

“Lindsay is absolutely stunned that this is happening to her,” the source said about the train wreck being turned down repeatedly by top lawyers.

“The [legal community has] a tremendous amount of respect for Shawn Holley, and they know that Lindsay owes her hundreds of thousands of dollars.”

“Therefore they want nothing to do with her.”

Some of the lawyers view representing LiLo as more trouble than its worth, the source said, and believe she will regret firing Holley for a long, long time.

Even Judge Stephanie Sautner seemed to suggest as much, asking her if she really wanted to drop Holley in favor of Heller at this stage of the game.

Lindsay said: “Yes, for today.” Sautner told her this action was not just for Wednesday but going forward. Lindsay tersely replied, “yes, going forward.”

Somewhat ironically, it’s Heller’s love for publicity and media that is “highly irritating” to Lindsay, the source told celebrity gossip site Radar Online.

“[Holley's] rule was to just lay it all out in court, and leave it at that,” the source said. “Mark had a press conference after he met with prosecutors in the case.”

Heller previously had his law license suspended five years for misconduct; even Michael Lohan has spoken out forcefully against Heller representing Lindsay.

It seems to be quite unclear why he was even hired, but so be it now.

Sautner set a pretrial hearing for March 1; Lindsay is not required to be in court if her counsel appears. The trial date is set for March 18. Expect fireworks.

Lindsay Lohan in handcuffs after judge revokes probation

Lindsay Lohan had her probation revoked pending a November 2 hearing after Judge Stephanie Sautner slammed her for failing to complete time at the Downtown Women’s Centre. Unfortunately she has already been released after posting $100,000 (the hookery money has come in handy after all) and will not spend time behind bars – no surprise really to anyone who understands that California’s penal system is a joke. So we will have to do with these pics for the time being and the fact that the Judge ordered her to do 16 hours of morgue clean-up duty. Nothing ruins your day more effectively than dead people’s bodily fluids all over your Louboutin heels.

Lindsay Lohan on Community Service: Let’s DO This!

Lindsay Lohan just showed up to the Downtown Women’s Center in L.A. to begin her community service, where she’ll be with the homeless, reports say.

Judge Stephanie Sautner ordered Lohan to complete 480 hours of community service for her probation violation, with 360 of those hours at the DWC.

Hopefully exposure to people with real problems gives her some perspective.

Out 2 Lunch

While there are reports that Lohan may serve her 120-day jail sentence under home confinement, there’s no getting out of the community service.

That’s fine by Lindsay, who’s determined to take responsibility for her actions and turn over a new leaf in all facets of her life. We applaud that.

Lindsay Lohan to Serve Jail Time Under Home Confinement?

Despite reports that Lindsay Lohan will plead no contest to theft, the star may be poised to avoid going to jail entirely, according to new reports.

Here’s the deal. By pleading no contest to misdemeanor theft, it’s likely LiLo won’t see an uptick in her 120-day sentence for violating probation.

If that takes pace, once she serves 120 days, she’s off the hook. However …

Mmm Lemme Think

The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, which runs the jail where Lindsay must do the time, routinely allows inmates to serve their time at home.

Provided they wear an electronic monitoring device, of course.

Due to overcrowding, the L.A. County Probation Dept. often allows non-violent, misdemeanor offenders to complete sentences at home, too.

Judge Stephanie Sautner has made it clear that Lindsay will be treated just like any other defendant, and will not receive any special treatment.

Thing is, any other defendant would have a good shot at being let off with home confinement as well. Break out the bikinis and ankle monitors!

Lindsay Lohan to Plead No Contest to Theft

Lindsay Lohan will enter a plea of no contest to the misdemeanor theft charge she faces over the alleged necklace theft she commented earlier this spring.

Despite insisting she is innocent, Lindsay is committed to what she told Jay Leno this week – she wants to accept responsibility and move on with her life.

As a result, Lohan and lawyer Shawn Holley will go back to Judge Stephanie Sautner as early as next week to enter a plea and end the case. Then what?

HOT Lindsay Lohan Pic

Lindsay was already sentenced to 120 days in jail for a probation violation, along with 480 hours of community service, at a preliminary hearing last week.

By pleading no contest to the theft charge, Lindsay is banking on Judge Sautner not adding additional prison time onto the 120 days for the theft charge.

In other words, LiLo serves 120 days for the probation violation and that’s that.

Given that she had the option of a plea deal (which she turned down) to serve less than that for the theft charge originally, that’s how it’ll likely go down.

Assuming it does, what do you think of Lohan’s jail sentence?

Lindsay Lohan Sentenced to 120 Days in Jail

Due to the Easter weekend we didn’t manage to get this story to you sooner, but as you may have heard last Friday, Lindsay lohan was sentenced to 120 days in jail.

Even though the felony theft charge against Lindsay Lohan was reduced to a misdemeanor during a preliminary hearing earlier on Friday, the judge did rule that the fallen starlet had violated her probation. And now Judge Stephanie Saunter has handed down her punishment, sentencing LiLo to 120 days in county jail.

As part of her punishment for violating probation, Lindsay Lohan has also been sentenced to 120 hours of community service at the L.A. County Department of the Coroner. Apparently she will do “basic janitorial work. She won’t be handling any dead bodies but she’ll certainly see them.”

On top of that, she will also serve 360 hours of service at a homeless shelter for women on Skid Row. Oddly enough, this isn’t Lindsay’s first time hanging out at the morgue. After her 2007 DUI, she had to spend two days there, to scare her straight. You know your life has taken a turn when you become unwittingly familiar with the coroner’s office.

Lindsay immediately appealed the decision, but it may not be heard for 2-3 months. She’ll remain free on bail until then, but a source says, “Lindsay’s appeal will most likely be denied. The only thing this appeal is doing is buying Lindsay time to stay out of jail.”

Who wants to bet she won’t even spend 7 nights in jail?

Lindsay Lohan sentenced to 120 days in jail

Lindsay Lohan sentenced to 120 days in jailTroubled star Lindsay Lohan has reportedly been jailed for four-months in the 2,500 dollars necklace theft case.

The ‘Mean Girls’ star however scored a legal victory when her felony grand theft charge was reduced to a misdemeanour.

However in less than an hour after downgrading the offence, Judge Stephanie Sautner threw the book at the actress and sentenced her to a four-month jail term, reports the Daily Mail.

The decision came after the Judge had heard testimonies against her in the necklace theft case and declared that there was sufficient evidence that she had violated her probation, which stems from a 2007 DUI.

Lohan’s lawyer filed an immediate appeal and Lohan’s camp scrambled to post $75,000 bail and secure her release from custody pending an appeal hearing. The 24-year-old showed little reaction when she was handed down the ruling and was swiftly led away from court by bailiffs.

The judge also ordered Lohan to serve more than 480 hours of community service at a women’s centre and the Los Angeles County Morgue.

Lindsay Lohan Doesn’t Take Plea Deal, is Going to Trial

Today was the deadline for Lohan to take a plea bargain for the felony grand theft of a $2000 necklace, and according to TMZ, she isn’t taking it. Accordingly, the flaxen-haired kleptomaniac has been assigned a trial judge, the Honorable Judge Stephanie Sautner. Sautner’s surprisingly telegenic past includes stints as an NYPD-SVU detective and a legal researcher for People’s Court. (And, you know, being a judge for the last couple decades.) Lohan’s first pre-trial hearing is scheduled for April 22 (wait, that’s Good Friday. Bring on the “she’s being crucified” puns).

Now on a semi related matter; what happened to the days of celebrities OD’ing? It seems like they used to go all the time. The herd of useless celebrities needs to be seriously thinned. Is Darwin on vacation in Cabo or something?

Penn Badgley Covers Da Man Magazine

Penn Badgley Covers Da Man MagazinePenn Badgley is tall, dark and handsome covering Da Man Magazine’s October/November 2009 issue. Here are some highlights from Hollywood’s Coolest “It” Boy:

On getting (and turning down!) Gossip Girl: “When I was first offered the part, I respectfully declined! I had done a few other teen shows on the same network and was looking for something new, so I said it wasn’t for me. A few months later, [producer Stephanie Savage] came back and urged me to take another look at the script.”

On his most valued possession: “Definitely my turntables and my record collection.”

On how he deals with the craziness of shooting Gossip Girl: “This might sound jaded, but you adapt to it pretty quickly…It’s not something I think about so much anymore. With modern celebrity and the way the media is so hypersensitive these days, you can’t afford to think about it all the time.”

On dating Blake Lively in the spotlight: “Doing what we’re doing, it can be a potentially dangerous thing, but we have something that was worth the risk and have a great trust and passion for each other.”
