Cat Deeley fearless thanks to Hollywood

Cat Deeley fearless thanks to HollywoodBritish TV host Cat Deeley says moving to Hollywood has made her more fearless.

Cat Deeley says Hollywood has made her more fearless.

The British presenter moved to the US in 2006 to present ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ and thinks moving Stateside has made her more willing to take risks in her career.

She said: I’ve always had a good dose of ambition and Hollywood has made me more fearless. I think if you feel too safe or secure, you become complacent.

“What you say no to is kind of more important than what you say yes to.”

Cat produced ‘Royally Mad’ for BBC America earlier this year and admits she is keen to take on more behind-the-scenes work.

She said: “I like challenging myself and I love anything I have to research. When I’m interviewing someone I’ll collect every bit of information I can on them, so producing, where you’re working on something from scratch, is fascinating for me. I definitely want to do more.”

Dance Judge Accused Of Child Molestation

Shane Sparks was arrested Friday morning and charged with eight counts of child molestation. Sparks is a judge on MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew and a choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance.

Sparks committed “lewd acts on a child” in 1994. The criminal complaint documents eight incidents of abuse. Sparks allegedly had a relationship with a female that included acts of oral sex and other acts “with the intent of arousing, appealing to, and gratifying the lust, passions, and sexual desires of the defendant, who was at least 10 years older than [the victim].”

Steve Meister, Sparks’ lawyer, contends that these accusations are false and that Sparks is an innocent man. Meister states that the accusation is “bogus” and that it “reeks of opportunism and exploitation.”

If convicted, Sparks will have to contribute his fingerprints and DNA to a national database of sex offenders.

Paula Abdul Is A Hot Commodity

PCM Reported this week that in Paula Abdul’s departure from American Idol that both NBC and CBS were interested in Paula. In stand up interviews with Paula by Entertainment TV Paula said she was overwhelmed by the attention of who wanted her and she apparently was not kidding. Paula has added ABC to the list of networks wanting her onboard.

In the case of ABC, they want her for Dancing With The Stars, and if course that is a good fit for Paula as she was a choreographer for music videos before her own singing career took off in the 1980′s.

ABC’s Entertainment President Steve McPherson has put out there that ABC wants Paula for Dancing with the Stars saying, “We would love to have her on ‘Dancing’ (with the Stars) whether its as an contestant, or particpant , judge etc…,” Continuing her praise, “There’s a lot made about who she is.”

Even Paula’s own Fox rounds out the Network interest as they too want her for So You Think You Can Dance with producer Nigel Lythgoe even if was just as a guest judge. Paula has a lot to think about as she needs to strike while the iron is hot and cash in on her celebrity appeal.

So You Think You Can Dance Finale 2009

So You Think You Can Dance Finale 2009

So, So You Think You Can Dance Finale is over with the great question that who is the winner of the spectacular session and who should be the winner.Don’t be sure about Evan as you all think that he is the one surely won’t be entitled for the no. 1 position, as experts assume that the way judges- Adam Shankman, Mary Murphy and Nigel Lythgoe openly let poor Evan Kasprzak know in front of the audience that its a real surprise how he could entered into the top 4, may reverse the whole thing.

Brandon Bryant,Evan Kasprzak,Jeanine Mason,Kayla Radomski all performed Pop-Jazz on “Boys Boys Boys” by Lady Gaga.Jeanine Mason and Evan Kasprzak danced Jazz on “Heartbreaker”—MSTRKRFT featuring John Legend.Later on Kayla Radomski and Brandon Bryant took on Broadway by dancing on “Bye Bye Love” from All That Jazz.Brandon Bryant and Evan Kasprzak teamed up on Pop-Jazz by shaking their bodies on “Nasty” by Miss Janet Jackson.Jeanine Mason and Kayla Radomski picked Contemporary and took the floor to “The Four Sections: IV (Full Orchestra)” by Steve Reich.

Kayla Radomski and Evan Kasprzak showed what they were made off on Jive by stepping with “T.R.O.U.B.L.E.” by Travis Tritt.Last but not least Jeanine Mason and Brandon Bryant selected Paso Doble and the music was “Tetsujin” from The Matrix Revolutions.

In each and every occasion when ever it was indicated that Evan is the odd man their, the audience didn’t liked it and this overkilling factor may prove to be a enormous blessing for Evan, who knows ?However Evan’s finale performance with Jeanine (Sonya Tayeh Jazz routine) was enjoyable as always, though it was not a exceptional one.

Among the four finalist it appears that ‘the should be winner’ could be Brandon or Jeanine Manson, and Jeanine is a step or two ahead of Brandon. But who knows it still could be Evan or even Kayla Radomski- who was highly pampered by the judges throughout the show as the best dancer of the show.

Changing into a plum-colored dancing ensemble, the former “Dawson’s Creek” cutie has been said to be in talks to show up for the 100th episode of “So You Think You Can Dance” on July 8th.“She’s met with judge and producer Nigel Lythgoe and everyone hopes she appears on this season or next season of the show,” a show insider told Life & Style magazine.

Since that time, Lythgoe told Us magazine, “I think it’s fair to say it’s a rumor. I’m not making any comments at this point. Would I like Katie Holmes to do it? I’d love Katie Holmes to do it! Absolutely! As far as I’m concerned, Katie Holmes can come on the show and do anything she’d like to do. But it is just a rumor for now.”

So You Think You Can Dance – Auditions

So You Think You Can Dance - Auditions

Thursday’s premiere of the fifth season of “So You Think You Can Dance” featured mohawk-clad choreographer Sonya Tayeh, a same-sex ballroom dance pair and judge Mary Murphy’s token scream. The two-hour Fox reality show included audition footage from New York and Denver. Murphy was joined at the judges’ table by returning judge and producer Nigel Lythgoe. Tayeh sat in for the Denver auditions, while guest choreographers Tabitha and Napoleon critiqued the dancers in New York.

The good: Keep an eye on Natalie, the redhead who made it to the Las Vegas round last year but was edged out by her roommate, eventual Top 3 finalist Katee Shean. Natalie impressed the judges this season in Denver and will advance to Vegas again. Luckily, she didn’t bring a roomie with her. Denver dancer Brandon had a similar story. Gev Manoukian, the eventual ninth-place finisher, kept him from advancing past Vegas last year. But Brandon’s back this season — bringing judge Mary Murphy to tears — and will dance in the Vegas round.

The bad: There were no shortage of missteps, but the female singer in Denver who took the stage dressed like a lion wins. Oh yeah, she danced with light sabers, too.The surprising: In Denver, the show saw its first male-male ballroom dance team. To say the least, Misha and Mitchel left the judges confused. “I’m certainly one of those people who likes to see guys be guys and girls be girls on stage,” Lythgoe said. Neither dancer advanced: A mid-performance tumble didn’t help their case.
