Sir Elton John scrapped a sell-out gig in Britain at short notice on Friday night (23Oct09) after falling ill with influenza.The Rocket Man was due to play to more than 13,000 fans at the Sheffield Arena in Sheffield, England but pulled out just hours before he was due to take the stage for his Red Piano show.
He has always enjoyed a tremendous reaction from the audiences every time he has performed at the Arena
A spokesman for the star put the cancellation down to a serious bout of flu.

Continuing along with her hectic promotional tour for “Australia,” Nicole Kidman was spotted making her way around London, England on Wednesday (December 10).
The “Eyes Wide Shut” actress paid a visit to a small art gallery, but when she noticed a photographer was around she went straight in and straight out. Later on today, Nicole and her “Australia” co-star Hugh Jackman are set to grace the red carpet for the London premiere of their epic film.
Taking place in Leicester Square, Kidman and Jackman will reportedly be joined by Sir Elton John, who composed the music for one of the songs featured in the movie
