Redmond O’Neal will be temporarily freed from jail to attend the funeral of his mother, actress Farrah Fawcett, on Tuesday, officials said.
Fawcett, the blonde-maned actress whose best-selling poster and “Charlie’s Angels” stardom made her one of the most famous faces in the world, died Thursday.

Farrah Fawcett lost her battle with cancer today.The 62-year-old American actress passed away with family and friends by her side, her spokesman confirmed.The devout Catholic had been read her last rites this morning.In a statement, a spokesman said Farrah had ‘passed to a better place and left the pain and confines of her bed behind’.
Fawcett was rushed into intensive care last night from her West Hollywood home to a nearby hospital.Fiancé Ryan O’Neal and best friend, actress Alana Stewart, who produced the reality documentary charting her battle with the illness, were among those with her in her last hours.However her son Redmond O’Neal, 24, who is currently in jail on a drug rehab programme, was not able to be present.
Fawcett was originally diagnosed with rectal cancer in 2006, and believed she had beaten it after surgery and a course of chemotherapy.However, the disease returned the following year, and despite experimental treatment in Germany, spread to her liver.Last month, Fawcett’s treatment ended. Bald and bedridden, she returned home to the Malibu mansion she shared with Love Story actor O’Neal.The news comes just two days after the Charlies’ Angels star was released from hospital following a brief stay.

Cancer-stricken Farrah Fawcett had taken a serious turn for the worse and her loved ones reportedly gathered at her bedside Wednesday night.A priest also was summoned to the Los Angeles hospital where the 62-year-old “Charlie’s Angels” icon – a devout Catholic – is being treated for anal cancer, the television show “Extra” reported.
Farrah Fawcett has received her last rites after being re-admitted to a hospital.

Charlie’s Angels star Farrah Fawcett is once again in the hospital battling cancer. She was first diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006 and has currently been in the hospital for the last two weeks.

The couple has been together for years and now may be the time for the two to finally wed.In an exclusive interview with Barbara Walters, which airs on Friday, June 26, 2009, Ryan O’Neal confirms that he and his longtime love Farrah Fawcett will tie the knot.
He tells Walters, “I’ve asked her to marry me, again, and she’s agreed.” The couple have been together since 1980, have lived together and have a child together, 24-year-old son Redmond O’Neal.
Even though Fawcett is fighting a nasty battle with anal cancer, O’Neal has said that since her battle began he has fallen in love with the actress more.
