Lindsay Lohan has started proceedings to file a restraining order against her father.
The ‘Mean Girls’ actress is said to fear for her safety and has instructed her lawyer Shawn Holley Chapman to begin the paperwork against Michael Lohan.
The filing should be ready within the next 48 hours, according to website RadarOnline.
The 23-year-old star took action against Michael – who she has a turbulent relationship with – over fears he was going to kidnap her.
It is thought she was encouraged to seek the restraining order by her mother, Dina – who is Michael’s ex-wife – and wants to be out of Los Angeles and away from her father when the filing becomes legal.

We all remember Adnan Ghalib, the paparazzo who seemingly hit the jackpot when Britney Spears decided to date him. And now he isn’t allowed near the “Gimme More” singer for three years.
An LA Superior Court Judge ruled today that Ghalib is forbidden from communicating with, or getting within 100 yards of Brit Brit for the next 36 months.

Now that the queen of pop’s comeback tour is in full swing, Britney Spears is starting to heat things up off-stage as well.According to E! Online, the star has secretly been on dates with her longtime talent manager, Jason Trawick, 37.A rep from the William Morris Agency, Trawick joined Spears on the first four shows of her Circus tour, but the two are supposedly getting cozy outside of work as well.
Though Trawick and Spears’ rep declined to comment, Trawick’s assistant at WMA confirmed that he had been traveling with Spears on the Circus tour and is now back in L.A.Another insider on the Spears team insists that the singer has a “close professional relationship“with Trawick and that it is “ridiculous”to suggest the pair is “romantic.”Despite this, the pair have been spotted together several times over the previous years, including in May 2008 when they jetted to Mel Gibson’s Costa Rica retreat and were photographed smiling and boogie-boarding at the beach.
Meanwhile, things for an ex of the “Womanizer” songstress are starting to look grim.Adnan Ghalib, the infamous paparazzi photographer and ex-boyfriend of the star, faces a jail sentence and could be deported to Afghanistan if he is found guilty of some assault charges, reports Britain’s Daily Mail.The 36-year-old is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, hit-and-run and battery.Ghalib made headlines most recently when Jamie Spears, the pop star’s father, decided to issue a restraining order against the pushy photographer.
