Dennis Hopper has filed for divorce for his wife of 14-years, Victoria Duffy.
In papers filed with the Los Angeles court, the actor cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
The couple have a daughter, Galen, 6. Hopper has requested joint legal and physical custody.
Hopper is currently battling prostate cancer.

Shaunie O’Neal has filed for a legal separation from 37-year-old basketball star, Shaquille O’Neal. Papers for the separation were filed Monday in Los Angeles.
In the filing, Shaunie cites irreconcilable differences for the breakup and is seeking sole custody of their children, ages 3 to 9.
This is the second split for the couple. Shaq had previously filed for divorce in Miami-Dade County, Florida in 2007.
There is a prenuptial agreement in place for the couple who have been married for seven years.

Mel Gibson looks set to become a father for the eighth time.According to U.S. reports the 53-year-old actor’s Russian girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, 39, is pregnant with his child.Oksana, who attended the LA premiere with the star last month, is reported to be in her second trimester.Gibson’s publicist said he had ‘no comment’ to make on the matter when contacted by Mail Online.The new comes after Gibson’s estranged wife of 28 years Robyn filed for divorce last month citing ‘irreconcilable differences’.
Just two weeks later Oksana, a pianist and singer, made a surprise appearance with the Braveheart actor at the Wolverine premiere.Their public outing together came as a shock given the fact Gibson, a devout Catholic, will have to defend his £640million fortune in the upcoming divorce battle.Oksana is signed to Gibson’s recording label Icon and previously dated former James Bond star Timothy Dalton. The couple split up two years ago and have a 12-year-old son, Thomas.In other news, Gibson has one less headache to deal with after settling a multimillion-dollar lawsuit over Passion Of The Christ.

Mel Gibson’s wife Robyn has filed for divorce after 28 years of marriage citing irreconcilable differences. The papers were filed on April 9th in Los Angeles.
“Throughout our marriage and separation we have always strived to maintain the privacy and integrity of our family and will continue to do so,” Gibson says in a statement released by his reps today.
The couple reportedly has no prenuptial agreement. The latest estimates place Gibson’s fortune at $900 million.
The couple have seven children.
