Paris Hilton must have known that her arrival at court to answer a $8million lawsuit was going to be greeted by a barrage of press.So she treated it like any other public appearance – by pulling on a flattering designer dress, having her hair done, and applying perfect make-up.The heiress arrived at the Miami court in a suitably somber black and white dress with a large bow on the back, teamed with super high heels.
Paris is being sued by the investors in her 2006 movie Pledge This.They claim she hated the movie and refused for months to make promotional appearances for it, despite a contract requiring her to do so’During the six-month period, at no time would she take 10 minutes to do a phone interview,’ attorney Bryan West, who represents the investors, said in yesterday’s opening statements.
With Hilton nodding vigorously from her defense table seat, her attorney Michael Weinsten insisted she did numerous appearances for the movie but was unavailable to meet many requests by the film’s producers because of her extremely busy schedule.
Paris also had the right to refuse some promotion events that might harm her ‘brand’ and never agreed to plug the DVD release of the movie from December 2006 through May 2007, he said.’Paris Hilton is a promotion machine,’ Weinsten said. ‘For two-and-a-half years, she relentlessly promoted that movie.’

It was the video Heidi Montag risked catching swine flu to shoot, so fans may well be underwhelmed by the reality star’s latest offering.The Hills’ star was so determined to film the clip in Mexico last month that she visited the country with her new husband Spencer Pratt at the height of pandemic fears.But without a plot line in sight and no more scenery than a pool and sandy beach, the effort almost beggars belief.
Instead of good quality production values and careful directing, the clip employs the use of a very simply strategy – a bikini and lots of flesh.In which case, her home town of LA surely would have sufficed for a location.Heidi appears to have taken tips from the Paris Hilton school of pop, lolling around in moves reminiscent of the heiress in the forgettable Stars Are Blind clip.
Spencer is believed to have filmed the video himself on a home video camera.The new single is Heidi’s latest effort to jumpstart her pop career – her previous tracks, including Higher and and Fashion, were widely panned by critics.She is hoping for a warmer reception this time around after calling in Cathy Dennis, who penned Kylie Minogue’s Can’t Get You Out Of My Head and Britney Spears’ Toxic, to write the song.

Paris Hilton obviously planned on showing off her rather plump chest area in this revealing low-cut dress.But one thing the heiress wasn’t expecting was for a fellow clubber to grab hold of her assets during her night out.Paris found herself manhandled as she walked past the man with 23-year-old boyfriend Doug Reindhart.
The chivalrous actor immediately stepped in to protect his girlfriend at LA’s H Club.A source told The London Paper: ‘Doug pushed the guy away and then a friend of the groper threw a beer bottle at his head.’Someone managed to get him in a headlock before Doug went over and started punching him. Then the groper started to attack Doug and Doug’s pal [fellow The Hills star] Frankie Delgado decided to get involved.’

The 28-year-old heiress was even spotted slipping the royals her phone number during her last visit to England.Guy Pelly, who is Mahiki’s promotions manager, benefited in turn because he knew that wherever Paris goes the cameras are sure to follow.But it seems the attention was all too much for the socialite, who locked herself in the toilets for 20 minutes blubbing – and rather incredulously putting her tears down to the presence of the paparazzi.To help raise the celebrity attraction threshold Paris was joined by fellow reality TV star Kelly Osbourne and interior designer Nicky Haslam.
Among the party at the nightspot with Kelly and Paris – who have been friends for a number of years – were Kelly’s fiance Luke Worrall who likewise stepped back to let the women step into the limelight.Before heading to the nightclub in aid of the Home Start charity Paris and Doug had dined at upmarket Piccadilly eaterie The Wolseley with Pelly, his girlfiend Susanna Warren and Haslam.One person who was noticeably absent was Sussex teenager Samuel Hextall whom Paris picked as her British Best Friend last month on her reality show.
