Kirstie Alley is fuming about a U.S. tabloid report that suggests she’s so overweight she has just four years to live.
The National Enquirer alleged 58-year-old Alley’s cycle of binge eating and yo-yo dieting had “shaved years off her life span”.
The report, published this week (12Aug09), includes a quote from a doctor who claims she “may only live to 62″.
The article has infuriated Alley, who has taken to the internet to defend herself and ask why overweight male stars aren’t subjected to the same press intrusion.
Alley writes on her Twitter.com page, “I wonder if Kevin James, John Goodman, Alec Baldwin, James Gandolfini, K-Fed, Bill Shatner, etc are dying in four years or only FAT actresses.”
Gay director Almodovar attracted to Penelope Cruz

Well-known Spanish director Pedro Almodovar, who is a gay, says he got attracted to his muse Penelope Cruz with whom he has done films like “Volver” and “All About My Mother”.
Almodovar admitted that he was intensely attracted to Cruz while filming his latest film “Broken Embraces”, a concept he also included in the plot, reported contactmusic.com.
“Out of all the actresses I have worked with, Penelope really has been the one who has caused a sense of desire in me beyond the sensuality of a film shoot,” he said.
“Normally, as a director, you engage with your leading lady on an extremely emotional level, and there is everything but sex.

When the “Legally Blonde” actress was asked why she doesn’t show more skin for roles, she simply replied that she thinks it’s important to act “responsibly” for her children.The respectable mother of two says, “I’ve always been choosing roles knowing that I have a daughter and I have a responsibility to her and to the world to be representing women of strength.”
Witherspoon continued on and jokingly admitted that her kids do get embarrassed by their famous mother, telling, “My children are embarrassed at me all the time. They’re like ‘mom your being really stupid.”

At the star-studded screening of Monica Bellucci and Sophie Marceau’s new movie Don’t Look Back, it was difficult to tell where the red carpet ended and the actresses began.The European actresses obviously took inspiration from the carpet itself as they arrived in complementing red gowns at the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday.
While few would deny Italian Monica, 44, and French Sophie, 42, looked stunning in their ruby-coloured gowns, it was perhaps an unwise style choice to wear on one of most famous red carpets in the world.Having clearly struck up a close friendship while filming French movie Don’t Look Back (Ne Te Retourne Pas), the two women put on an affectionate display for photographers, holding hands and cuddling at they arrived at the Palais des Festival on the French Riviera.
Monica showed off her famous curves in an off-the-shoulder red Christian Dior silk gown, which she teamed with a red Dior clutch purse and diamonds.Looking equally statuesque was former Bond girl Sophie in a Yves Saint Laurent Editor Soir strapless column dress and killer red heels.
